The best way to buy Cardano (ADA) in the UK is with the Crypto.com app. With this, you’ll be able to buy Cardano (ADA) at the real exchange rate without paying any fees (yep, 0%).

Best Ways to Buy Cardano in the UK

#1: Crypto.com [0% Fees]

Hands down, Crypto.com is the best place to buy Cardano (ADA) in the UK.

If you deposit GBP using a UK bank transfer, you can buy Cardano (ADA) at the real exchange rate with 0% fees. You can also buy Cardano (ADA) using a debit or credit card using Crypto.com, but you’ll usually be charged a 3.5% fee for doing so. However, this fee has been waived until the end of September 2020.

Caution: You’ll be charged extra fees by your card issuer if you use a credit card to buy Cardano (ADA) or other cryptocurrencies.

BC Bitcoin allows you to easily and quickly buy loads of cryptocurrencies, including Cardano (ADA). They’ll sell you cryptocurrencies at the market rate but have a flat fee of 4% for orders under £100,000. The minimum order is £100.

BC Bitcoin also has great feedback from customers. They currently have a 5-star Trustpilot rating, with over 300 reviews. When I read through the reviews, I found lots of praise for how simple and quick they’ve made the registration and buying experience.

#3: Buy Cardano (ADA) With Bitcoin (BTC)

Although it’s not as simple or convenient, another option is to exchange Bitcoin (BTC) for Cardano (ADA) on a cryptocurrency exchange.

Here’s an overview of the process.

#3.1: Buy Bitcoin (BTC) in the UK With GBP

In 2020, there are lots of places where you can conveniently buy Bitcoin (BTC) with GBP at competitive prices.

Coinbase Pro remains a cheap way to buy Bitcoin (BTC) with a UK bank transfer (0.5% fees). Because it provides free cryptocurrency withdrawals, it’s also a good choice if you’re looking to send it over to an exchange to buy cryptocurrencies like Cardano (ADA).

#3.2: Exchange Bitcoin (BTC) for Cardano (ADA)

Once you’ve got some Bitcoin (BTC), you’ll need to find an exchange which has a BTC/ADA market.

Here are a few options I picked out:

ProviderPayment MethodFees (Approx.)
ChangellyBTC & Altcoins< 1%
ShapeShiftBTC & Altcoins< 1%
BinanceBTC< 1%
KrakenBTC< 1%

When I checked, Binance had the:

  • Highest trading volume
  • Lowest fees (up to 0.1%)
  • Reasonable and competitive withdrawal fees

Alternatively, you could use Changelly or ShapeShift. Both of these websites allow you to easily and quickly exchange cryptocurrencies at competitive rates. When I checked, they were both quoting prices that included less than 1% in fees.

However, don’t be tempted to buy Cardano (ADA) with a debit or credit card from Changelly. When I checked, I found that its prices were more than 10% above what is available on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Best Cardano (ADA) Wallets

The Cardano (ADA) official wallet is Daedalus. This is available on Windows, macOS, and Linux. This is a “full node” wallet, which means that it downloads an entire copy of the blockchain.

If you don’t want to do that, then there are two lightweight wallets called Yoroi and AdaLite. There’s also Atomic Wallet if you want a user-friendly multi-currency wallet that’s available on desktop and mobile.

Trezor vs Ledger Nano S vs Digital BitBox (Angled Shot)

These are decent options. However, it’s well-recommended across the community to use a hardware wallet to keep your cryptocurrency secure.
