How can you earn free Bitcoin (BTC)? Is it even possible to get free Bitcoin (BTC)?
In this post, I provide a quick overview of the best ways you can earn free Bitcoin (BTC) in 2021. While some won’t earn you much (e.g. BTC faucets), there are other ways that are quick, easy, and reward a decent chunk of free crypto.
Be cautious when you’re looking for ways to earn free crypto. Scams will often promise to reward you with free Bitcoin (BTC) or guaranteed returns if you send them some cryptocurrency.
Cointiply
Reward Amount: Various (usually small)
Cointiply is a Bitcoin (BTC) faucet and rewards site where you can earn free Bitcoin (BTC).
You can get free Bitcoin (BTC) from just using their Bitcoin faucet and earn extra rewards for completing tasks (e.g. take surveys, install apps, watch videos, etc.). If you do some of these extra tasks, you’ll also get even more Bitcoin (BTC) when you use their faucet.
Bitcoin Faucets
Reward Amount: Various (usually small)
Bitcoin faucets are websites that give you an extremely small amount of Bitcoin (BTC), restricted by a timer (e.g. every 15 minutes).
They’re a great way of getting your hands on some free Bitcoin (BTC), but you have to consistently use these faucets to accumulate any meaningful amount. Every time you use them, you’re usually only rewarded with a fraction of a cent/pence worth of Bitcoin (BTC).
Here are some of the most popular and reputable Bitcoin (BTC) faucets I found:
Website | Timer |
---|---|
Cointiply | 60 minutes |
BonusBitcoin | 15 minutes |
Bitcoinker | 5 minutes |
Moon Bitcoin | 5 minutes |
FreeBitcoin | 60 minutes |
Coinbase Earn
Reward Amount: Various
Coinbase Earn gives you free cryptocurrency for learning about alternative cryptocurrencies. You’ll need to complete some short quizzes, but they don’t take long.
Here’s what free crypto is available on Coinbase Earn right now:
Free Cryptocurrency | Amount |
---|---|
NuCypher (NU) | $3 in NU |
The Graph (GRT) | $3 in GRT |
Celo (CGLD) | $6 in CGLD |
Compound (COMP) | $9 in COMP |
Stellar Lumens (XLM) | $10 in XLM |
Before you can get this free cryptocurrency, you’ll need to create a Coinbase account.
If you already have an account, just login and head over to the “Rewards” area.
When new coins are added to Coinbase Earn, I’d recommend you claim them ASAP (or get on the waitlist). It’s quite a generous programme, so it is extremely popular in the crypto community.
Brave Browser
Reward Amount: Various (usually small)
Brave is an Internet browser that has built-in adblocking but rewards you for opting in to occasionally being shown advertisements. It adds up quite fast!
To get the most value out of this, you’ll need to switch to using Brave as your primary browser. You might be nervous about committing to that, but it’s an excellent browser that I’ve found quite speedy on mobile (compared to alternatives).
Lolli
Reward Amount: Up to 30% cashback in Bitcoin (BTC)
Lolli is a free browser extension that gives you cashback in Bitcoin (BTC) when you shop online in loads of different places.
Just register on their site, install the browser extension and then go about buying like things online like you normally would. You can browse the online shops supported (and the cashback you’ll get) here.
Wirex [Bitcoin Debit Card]
Wirex provides a crypto debit card to residents in the UK, EU, and Singapore. They also allow you to buy Bitcoin (BTC) and a range of other cryptocurrencies at decent rates (total of about 2.5% in fees).
Whenever you use this crypto debit card in-store, you’ll receive up to 1.5% cashback in Bitcoin (BTC). You don’t have to do anything special. Just shop like normal.
